There are multiple options available in Stellaris for purging but most are blatantly genocidal and therefore result in most of the galaxy despising you for your genocidal tendencies. There is one exception to this and that is displacement. Corvettes with high evasion are really good too, and you should have those anyway. I'd stack a crapload of them with torpedos and something that does shield penetration, I wouldn't even bring anything bigger. And so is born the fleet of the 170 torpvettes... Torpedoes are dead. Missiles are best now.At first you need to have local superiority. Devote your whole early game to pumping up your fleet to beat your neighbors as soon as humanly machinely possible.
